Welcome to a "Grow House" in Ontario

Our SERVPRO technician is giving us a guided tour of an illegal marijuana grow house in Ontario. This rental unit of over 4000 square feet suffered numerous infrastructure changes and structural modifications for the grow operation. The interior air reeked of "pot."

The tenants partitioned off rooms from both levels of the home using foam board and steel studs. The building materials and the soil from the potted plants can be removed by our SERVPRO crew that specializes in residential cleanups. We have literally "Seen it All."

Mold growth was rampant throughout this structure even though tarps were placed on the floors, and an intricate ventilation system was rigged in all the rooms. The fungal stains are visible on the ceilings, and the PVC plumbing was installed on the walls and ceilings for irrigation. Moisture is mold's best friend. The indoor air quality was hazardous with the storage of chemicals and fertilizers, and our AMRT applied microbial remediation technicians donned full Tyvek suits as part of our PPE personal protective equipment.

As we pan through the upstairs of this 2015 built home, our team understands the need for a complete "gutting" of the interior. The mold damage, illegally rigged electrical wiring, and plumbing needed careful removal and disposal according to local codes.

The goal of SERVPRO of Azusa/Covina is to provide a demolition down to a build back state, then apply antimicrobial agents to help inhibit the return of mold infestations and deodorize the entire interior of the house. We have advanced mechanical equipment such as air scrubbers with HEPA and charcoal filters, ULV ultra-light volume foggers, and thermal foggers. We can also apply odor-retardant paint and pellets to mask the musty odors during the service through completion.
